Day 1 (11/8)

  1. Simpson-Reed Grove Trail

🚶 A short, flat loop right off Highway 199 — an easy first grove close to Crescent City.

  2. 🔴 Quite far (3.3km)

    Stout Memorial Grove

🚶 A short loop among giant redwoods. Howland Hill Road is unpaved, so take it slowly in big vehicles or after rain.

  3. 🟡 A bit far (1.7km)

    Grove of Titans

🚶 Stay on the boardwalk built to protect the roots. Walk in from the Mill Creek Trail parking area.

  4. 🔴 Quite far (8.7km)

    Enderts Beach

🌅 The tide pools only show at low tide — check a tide table before you go.

Day 2 (11/9)

  1. Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway

🚗 A scenic road through the forest parallel to Highway 101; Roosevelt elk often graze in the roadside meadows.

  2. 🔴 Quite far (10.8km)

    Trillium Falls

🚶 An easy loop from the Elk Meadow area with a small waterfall along the way. Keep your distance from the elk in the meadow.

  3. 🔴 Quite far (12.7km)

    Tall Trees Grove

🚶 Access is limited — get the free permit in advance. The trail drops down to the grove and climbs back up, so allow extra time.
